The goal of the Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) is to equip doctoral researchers with all necessary scientific and personal skills to persue their scientific projects and prepare them for their independent careers in academia or the corporate world.
Besides offering high-level structured training on basic science in form of lectures and method courses, the IRTG coordinates a multidisciplinary seminar series, where doctoral researchers can present and discuss their research progress.
The training is completed by a career development program, which includes science-related (e.g., scientific writing, good scientific practice, advanced presentation skills course etc.) and transferable skills courses (e.g., project management, intercultural training, etc.) provided by the Graduate Academy and its Graduate School “Science, Medicine and Technology” - OLTECH at the UOL.
The short-term doctoral fellowships that the IRTG hands out to excellent doctoral researchers every year allow collaborations with external researchers who are interested to work within the SFB 1372 framework.
